Custodianship

International students under 18 who live and study in Canada without a parent must declare a legal custodian who lives in Eastern Ontario. A custodian is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, taking legal responsibility for minor children. The Principal of International Education at the CDSBEO will be a custodian for all students registered in our homestay program. Other custodians are acceptable – Custodial information is required to be completed on our online application if you do not need the CDSBEO Homestay program.

Page one of the IRCC Custodianship Declaration will be completed by the CDSBEO Homestay program for students requiring homestay services. Page two of the IRCC Custodianship Declaration is completed by the student's parents. Both pages are needed by IRCC when submitting a Study Permit application.
